TiO<sub>2</sub> Phase Engineering by Millisecond Range Annealing for Highly Efficient Photocatalysis

Air pollution and the energy crisis are two main driving forces behind development of alternative, environmentally friendly methods production. Photoactive materials can be used both to clean air produce green hydrogen for energy. Transition metal oxides one most considered high-performance photocatalysis. In this work, we investigate effect millisecond flash lamp annealing (FLA) TiO2 on degradation methyl blue (MB) orange (MO). To reduce consumption deposition process, layers were made using magnetron sputtering at room temperature followed by FLA. By controlling input, tune phase formation films from pure anatase mixed anatase/rutile phases. Scanning electron microscopy, positron annihilation spectroscopy, photoluminescence, X-ray diffraction studies show that crystal size film quality increase with increasing temperature. Photocatalytic experiments demonstrate FLA-treated active in degrading MB MO. This makes them attractive not only production but also purification water medical contaminants.
